The Penthouse

They kept my €200 deposit, claiming I’d smoked in the room. I didn’t smoke, and I didn’t have anyone over while I was there. The whole thing seems pretty strange to me. Anyway, be happy and spend wisely, lol.

Emma at reception was fantastic, and I can’t fault the property, the room, or that incredible view. I’d never stayed so high up in a building before, though I found out I get vertigo at that height and couldn’t stay. It’s stunning, just make sure you can handle the heights first, lol!

Great views, a good location, and a TV with Netflix. The place is spacious, and the heaters work amazingly well. I did feel uneasy about the green stuff on the shower head, though, and it’d be scary if your phone died since you need it to get in. The purple LED made it hard to sleep.

The dangerous window was the part that really spoiled the start of our stay. One of the little lower windows had no safety latches, and it dropped open suddenly, badly hurting my partner’s finger. I emailed reception with pictures about an hour later and got no reply. When I raised it with the receptionist, they didn’t seem very concerned and only said, “we’ll check.” There wasn’t even an apology. It’s a serious safety issue, and I’d expect staff to respond when something like this is overlooked, especially at this price. The flat itself is lovely, with nice furniture and decor, and the night views are worth the price. The windows weren’t very clean and the shower head looked worn, but those weren’t a big deal. Otherwise it was a great stay and good value, but that incident and the lack of response really affected the experience.
