Strowis Hostel

A small garden, shared kitchen, luggage lockers, free earplugs and laundry service were among the useful things here. There was also a little bar, coworking-style tables, board games, a microwave and a kettle. We could rent bikes for a reasonable price, which is handy for getting around. Bathrooms and showers are in the corridor, and they were spacious and very clean. I stayed one night with friends and found the hostel clean, well maintained, central, and welcoming. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. On arrival, guests can choose a welcome drink, tea, juice or coffee. Our room had a sink and mirror, a small table and chairs, towels, linens, adjustable heating, and comfortable beds and pillows. We really enjoyed the stay and would choose it again if we return to Utrecht.

My room was spacious and practical, with everything I needed for one night. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's right in the city center, so getting to the train station or around town on foot or by bike is easy.

The garden and its pond are so peaceful in the evening. I even heard frogs putting on a concert one night, and there's a cute cat who loves cuddles with guests. I'm writing this from the hostel's really cozy lobby. The rooms, toilets and showers were clean, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely come back.

The steep Dutch stairs probably make this a poor fit for people with physical disabilities. Apart from that, I loved this hostel when I stayed in April a few months ago. The garden felt like an oasis away from the busy town, and the location was great. Staff had good tips about alternative events around the hostel and Utrecht. The place has a relaxed, free, old-school, quite hippy style with a little punk edge that I love. The woman hosting us was great, the atmosphere was warm, and it was easy to meet lovely people. A few months later, I still think about the hostel. It left a mark on my heart, and I hope I'll be back.
