We’ve found our Valkenburg hotel for now. It’s a small, homey place run by friendly, hardworking people who are happy to help with anything. You can relax with a drink in the living room or at the bar. The town center is a 10 to 15 minute walk away, and free parking is 50 meters from the hotel. There are 10 rooms, from singles to triples. Our triple room worked well enough for us and our child. Breakfast was adequate, and the hotel was just the nice, modest-sized family place we wanted, away from the center but still within walking distance. Just call to book.

The owners were really lovely, which makes it a shame we probably wouldn’t stay here again. The room was clean, the bathroom new, breakfast decent, and we got a warm welcome. But the house rules on the door were a bit much: no drinks or food in the room, and guests have to take out their own rubbish. We also heard people walking and talking next door, as well as the railway, crossing, and road outside, especially with the window open. The walk to the center felt longer than we’d hoped. We still had a few lovely days in Valkenburg, but those issues put us off returning.

For the price, this is a great hotel. The staff are friendly, the room was very clean, and the bed was good. Breakfast was generous too. There’s a secure place at the back for mountain bikes or road bikes. It’s also near the jet station and about a 10-minute walk from the city center. Highly recommended!

The room was clean, though the furnishings felt a little dated. It’s a nice little hotel, but it’s a shame Dutch is the only language spoken, especially when Wallonia is just 30km away.

It’s just a 5-minute walk into Valkenburg town center, and the hotel also makes a handy base for taking the train to Maastricht. We got a very warm welcome, a beautiful room, and an excellent breakfast with plenty to choose from.
