That was one of my worst dining experiences in a long time. The pork was overcooked, with a sickly yellow sauce I couldn’t identify. When we asked for the dessert menu to try to get rid of that awful taste, the waitress tossed lunch menus our way, then disappeared and never came back.

Friday afternoon, we had the satay with tasty fries at 2 p.m., and it was delicious. We came back to Vijlerhof for dinner on Saturday and shared a pan of rabbit stew that was truly good. We finished with crème brûlée and a chocolate brownie with ice cream and whipped cream. Everything was delicious, and the service was incredibly friendly. We’d love to return.

We had a simple but tasty “12 o’clock” meal, including vegetable soup. The service was friendly, and both the setting and ambiance are fantastic. We weren’t keen on the wasps, so we moved from the terrace indoors, no problem at all. The restaurant looks a little dated, but it’s well maintained. We’ll definitely come back.
