Fletcher Hotel - Restaurant Waalwijk

We had already spent a lot on the room and couldn't afford to move, which made the stay even more upsetting with our two young children. The room felt disgusting and unhygienic for them. We complained to management, but they offered only a three-day voucher to come back. I won't stay at any of their hotels again. We deserve a refund, not an invitation to repeat the experience. As visitors, this was a terrible welcome to the Netherlands, a beautiful country that deserves better from its hotels. Please see the attached videos and images. Before we checked in, another guest was leaving early with his family and said the place was filthy. I wondered if he was exaggerating, but our room was just as bad. Dust covered the windows, with cigarette butts outside. The surfaces were sticky, the carpets stained and dirty, and there was dirt on the bathroom tiles. The shower floor and curtain were filthy, and so were the blinds and curtains. It was very hot, so we had to use the two fans they provided, even though they were thick with dust. The whole hotel needs a deep clean.

The room smelled bad and was very cold. Staff wouldn't turn on the heating, which I think was because of the cost, even though I'd paid full price. When I kept asking, they first lied to me, then said I was stressing them out. The staff were unfriendly overall. One Egyptian employee was very friendly, but there wasn't much he could do. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, even for one night.

I've stayed in countless hotels around the world for business, and this was one of my worst experiences. The rooms are dirty, badly worn and extremely outdated. A lot of things don't work, there's no air conditioning, and even the toilet flush is unreliable. I've given the place several chances over the past 4-5 years, but nothing has been renovated or improved. With prices like these, it feels like a complete rip-off. I won't be back, and I'd strongly advise others to stay away.

The room had bad air and the heating was poor. Everything felt bad. Check-in was refused at 14:20 because housekeeping hadn't cleaned yet. He offered me a room for an extra 15€, which made me wonder if some rooms were already clean.
