We booked for a large group of 30-50 people, and the service was so poor that I’ve never experienced anything like it. We’d paid for early check-in, but were told it wasn’t possible. The receptionist said they’d look into it and then did nothing. Only after our organization called did we suddenly get our room. After 26 hours of travel, we asked at the restaurant and bar if we could sit down for coffee. The first staff member just said, “Ehh,” and walked off. Later, we had reserved the restaurant for dinner with the group. When only a few of us remained, we asked for the last drinks we’d already paid for. A staff member said we’d have to buy them ourselves after dinner, while holding our unfinished wine bottles right in front of him. It was crazy. The atmosphere wasn’t friendly or welcoming, and staff seemed not to care about visitors or even ordinary requests.

For around €1,000 a week, I expected more. The room was cold when I arrived and hard to warm up. There are no bathroom heaters, so I had to heat it with two hairdryers. The TV is getting old, and we had paper cups instead of glasses. Housekeeping didn’t clean properly: rubbish bags were left behind, used towels remained, surfaces weren’t wiped, the floor wasn’t vacuumed, and the bed wasn’t even made properly. They call it a luxury room. Fixing these things would make it a good room.

The room was comfortable and spacious, with a lovely river view. Breakfast had an alright selection. Nothing especially stood out, but I couldn’t find anything to complain about either.

A very nice place to stay in Wageningen. The location is great, there’s parking, and the staff are helpful.

I was disappointed by how incomplete the cleaning was. The room needed attention in every corner and a proper, thorough service. Before arriving, I emailed several requests, but none were acknowledged or taken care of. That lack of response and consideration for guests’ needs is unacceptable. Many staff members were welcoming, though some didn’t seem genuinely warm. I hope management improves both housekeeping consistency and communication with guests.
