Hotel Laurabos

The location is beautiful, and although the rooms are small, they're clean. Still, after a long drive I was quite disappointed to find the restaurant closed from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday. The terrace also closes from 19.00, so there's nowhere to sit outside for a drink. You're left with your room or going elsewhere.

Love this beautiful golf spot. The 18-hole course through the pines is pleasant, and the practice area is great, especially the long chipping Green where you can work on approach shots over 40m.

The golf course was in great condition, with a nice layout. Watching the trees change color was relaxing. The restaurant itself is cozy and beautiful, and its renovation was done in recent years. The service was polite and delightful. The food was amazing in several ways. The Burger bun was brioche, soft, with a lovely milky fragrance, and its sauce had plenty of flavor without being too salty. The Kalfswang (chick meat) was tender on a slightly crunchy piece of bread, topped with a leaf cookie decoration. Even the cookie had a vegetable fragrance. It looked and tasted very satisfying. Please come and visit, you'll find it a good place to be.

We had both a three-course and a four-course meal, and each was beautifully put together. Service was impeccable and very friendly. The restaurant, which also serves as the golf clubhouse, has modern decor and great indoor and outdoor seating. The hotel rooms were extremely spacious and very clean, with friendly staff and individual temperature controls, including air-conditioning. Breakfast was great, though it could use more warm options. The only hot item was a boiled egg. There was a good range of bread, yogurt, and juices. The golf course winds among old pine and broadleaf trees, with a little water in play but not too much. It was in excellent condition and a real challenge. The bunkers have fine sand, which is nice around the greens but calls for precise shots from fairway bunkers. There's rough, but finding a wayward ball should be doable. The practice facilities were plentiful and well maintained. There's also a tennis court and petanque field. One of my best play-and-stay experiences.
