Met Hotel Amsterdam

The rooms felt fresh, with clean towels and linens that even smelled pleasant, and the hotel seemed newly furnished and well maintained. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. Its location made it easy to get around while still being quiet at night and in the morning. We had a great stay and would happily return or recommend it. One small suggestion: a side table or raised surface in the room would be handy for snacks and other small things.

The outside of the hotel was littered, and we spotted mice coming out of the bushes. I understand that may be particularly hard to manage, but we were underwhelmed by the location. Construction noise often woke us up in the mornings, which was a big inconvenience. Although Amsterdam’s public transport is impeccable, the trip to the city center is still long, so you need to make your time there worthwhile. The walk to Vondelpark is actually 41 minutes. Inside, things were mixed. Staff were friendly, access to a supermarket was easy, and the spaces were clean and well maintained. The cocktails were great. But the rooms didn’t match what was advertised online: the beds were small and difficult to sleep in, there was only one mirror, nowhere cold to store drinks or food, and not even a toilet brush. The room felt only half complete. The kitchen is permanently closed, and that wasn’t mentioned until we arrived, even though it’s been closed since April. The dining menu is limited, and the only evening option is premade pizza for over EUR16. There aren’t many restaurants nearby. My sister and I came to Amsterdam for my birthday, and as soon as we arrived, we doubted our choice of accommodation. This is the first time we’ve felt misled by positive reviews. Unfortunately, it’ll be our first and last stay at Met Hotel.

We were stranded after our flight was cancelled and arrived early with nowhere to go. The reception staff let us wait in the lounge until a room was ready. Since the hotel was full, the shift staff arranged a temporary room for us as soon as one became available. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Thank you so much.

Postjesweg metro station is very close, so getting around the city was easy, even though the hotel is outside central Amsterdam. Our room was spotless, with lovely decor and comfortable beds, and the staff were really friendly. We enjoyed our long weekend at the Met Hotel Amsterdam and would happily stay again if we return.
