Qbic Hotel Amsterdam WTC

It’s in a business area that isn’t especially nice, though it’s close to the RAI halls. The staff were helpful, breakfast was good, and tea and coffee were free. My room had no window, and the TV showed expressionistic-looking pictures. I asked twice for an invoice and got no reply at first. I’ve received it now, thanks.

The hotel staff member was great, but there was nothing she could do about the construction noise in the building after 7pm. The drilling was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV even at full volume. Security said WTC “House Rules” allowed it and wouldn’t show us an exemption, despite Gemeente Amsterdam law allowing construction noise only between 7am and 7pm unless an exemption applies. They thought the rules overrode the law. I still say don’t stay here. The hotel and security don’t care about customers. They gave us a refund, but I had to find and rebook another hotel, then drag my 9-year-old daughter out of bed to move. The manager couldn’t stop the noise. Security were unapologetic, thought it was fine for the drilling to continue until 10pm, and used the WTC “house rules” as proof. The hotel’s response is just spin. Nothing has changed or will change, and it wasn’t even an apology.

I booked a large room. It was clean, cost effective and in a great location. The reception staff were amazing and so friendly, especially Sanaa and Kaoutar. I got in late at night, tired, and they made me feel really welcome and at home. Thank you, ladies!

The neighborhood is quiet in the evenings, and you can rent bikes directly from the hotel, although the deposit is quite expensive. Tram, Metro and train connections are right outside, making downtown Amsterdam an easy 15-minute trip. The hotel is stunning and well located, with clean rooms and friendly staff. The floor creaks, and the shower wasn’t great since it only has a rain shower head.
