Amistad Hotel

The food was great, and the staff made both me and my girlfriend feel so welcome. Amazing hotel, with an immaculate vibe!

The price doesn’t match what you get, and you could find much more comfortable hotels for the same amount. In the room, there’s barely space to move around the bed or open a suitcase. It’s extremely small and poorly ventilated, and in summer the heat is unbearable for sleeping. The reception, which also serves as the “restaurant,” has a musty smell. The stairs have narrow steps that could easily cause a fall, and the street is noisy. I’d avoid this place. It shouldn’t be considered a hotel.

The breakfast pancakes and scrambled eggs Mike makes are incredible, so make sure you try them. Amistad is a lovely little queer friendly hotel right in the center of Amsterdam. Mike and the rest of the staff are so friendly, and the modern, clean rooms and bathrooms made it a joy to stay there.

The location works really well if you have a daily tram ticket. Mike was friendly and welcoming, and gave us all the instructions we needed for checking in after 5 pm. Our room was clean, and breakfast was enough for us.
