The wild menu food was good, and breakfast was simple but enough. Our room was okay, though below 19 degrees, which felt cold to us. The hotel is right in the woods, with hiking and cycling routes nearby. Restaurant service could be more attentive: I waited about 15 minutes for tap water to take my medication with dinner, and nobody checked on us while we waited.

For the price, the quality feels fair. It’s practically in the forest, so it suits you if you want nature and birdsong in the morning. The beds are really comfortable, especially after a long walk.

The communication from the hotel staff was really poor. I bought a voucher through Social Deal and called before paying to reserve the family room they said they would hold for us. Before we arrived, I emailed three times because I still hadn’t received confirmation, but nobody replied. When we got there, there was no family room, so our family with small children had to pay for two rooms. The rooms were tiny, dirty, old-fashioned, and smelly. I even found plastic bottles left by previous guests behind the curtains. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want a comfortable room. I don’t know how it got four stars.

The hotel’s surroundings are amazing, and it was good with kids. Our room was clean, I liked the balcony view, and the children had fun in the pool, which wasn’t too crowded. Hiring a bike costs 25 euros per person. For a family of five, that adds up, so I think the prices could be lower for families.

I stayed for six days on my first vacation outside my home country, and the hotel in Wolfheze couldn’t have suited me better. The staff were really friendly, the room was clean, and the place turned out better than I’d expected from the screenshots.
