Vakantiepark Fort den Haak

This place is chic, lovely, and has everything you need. We were two adults, one child and our six-month-old puppy, with plenty of space and stylish furnishings. We've stayed in chalets by the sea for years, and this resort is easily the best and cleanest we've found. The grounds look great and fit the whole concept perfectly. They even had a welcome gift for our dog, which was such a thoughtful touch and he loved it right away. We liked the area and the nearby restaurants, and the locals are so genuine and cool. We booked again for next year before leaving. The vacation is sadly over, but that's a 10/10 from us. We sent our recommendations straight to the team, so they don't belong here. If this kind of stay isn't for you, book a hotel. One tip: bring a blanket or two, especially around December. With the weather, it sometimes got down to -4°C overnight, a hard frost. We like the harsh climate, but blankets are handy for wrapping up in the evening. See you soon!

Fort den Haak Chalet Park is our favorite seaside holiday spot. It's clean, well looked after and dog friendly. I love coming here with my Great Dane: it's so peaceful, the beach is beautiful, and relaxing in the chalet is easy.

The area is lovely and the beach is a short walk away, though dogs aren't allowed there in summer. The chalets are actually quite nice, but we ended up in number 1, where tall trees block the sun and there's no grass on the terrace. Cars drive past quickly as they come and go from the park. Our chalet wasn't very clean, with dirt in the corners and under the cupboards, and balls left by previous guests. The beds weren't comfortable. The bathroom is tiny and wouldn't suit a larger person. The radiator in front of the toilet means you can't sit upright. There was standing water on the bathroom floor and the toilet seat was broken. They replaced the seat, but the water remained. The technician couldn't fix it, and we never heard back from him.
