MEININGER Hotel Amsterdam Amstel

The only small issue was the laundry app and how it works. Otherwise, this was perfect for us. The kitchen was great, the fridge well maintained, and the guests were respectful of each other. The kids loved the arcade area. Jumbo supermarket and Macdonalds are across the street, and Amstel Station is less than a 5 minute walk away. Amsterdam station is less than 10 minutes away by Metro, and No.12 Tram was a blessing. It also goes to Centraal by a more scenic route. We’d wanted to stop by Buno Coffee, the cafe next to the hotel, but didn’t end up going. We had an awesome 9 days here as a family of 4. The rooms and beds/bunk beds were comfy. We were on the top floor with a view of the train station, which my son loved. The water was strong and the hot water didn’t disappoint. The kitchen worked really well, and everyone was considerate. Thanks to everyone, especially Regina, for making our stay as warm as their hearts!

The whole team made me feel welcome, from the friendly, helpful night reception staff to Tiffani at the breakfast reception. Tiffani was warm, attentive and very professional. I had a wonderful stay, and highly recommend it.

The shared facilities were handy, and there was plenty of space. We used the kitchen, which worked well with the supermarket across the road, and my 7-year-old loved the game area. The hotel is well maintained, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Some mattresses are a bit old, though that wasn’t unexpected.

We’ll keep booking with this chain during the rest of our 4-year-long European trip. This was a comfortable, safe and relaxing stay, and the staff were professional, courteous and kind. We felt very welcome. We travelled with kids, and the place was very kid friendly. The rooms were quiet, though we did have one quirk: the sink drain was clogged and filled up with water. Breakfast was worth paying for, with a nice spread of typical European items like breads, rolls, cheeses, meats, grains, veggies, coffee and teas. The kids loved the little pancakes and waffles and the chocolate, and all those carbs and fats kept them energized on our walking tour of Amsterdam. This was our second time staying with the chain, after our first stay in Berlin. The hotel is conveniently beside the train station, with a Jumbo market and a McDonalds across the street. There are also a couple of cafes and restaurants next to the hotel.
