The garden, terrace and jetty look out over the canal, and the studio is spacious and well equipped. After a day in Amsterdam, it’s lovely to cool off in the canal. Room with a Few is in IJburg, a short tram ride from Central Station, which suited our family of four perfectly. Marjolein and Jan were lovely: they met us when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know. Highly recommend, 5*.

A great place to stay, with the most amazing hosts we’ve ever had. The tram nearby gets you to the city centre quickly, and we had a lovely time.

The location is peaceful, with lovely gardens around the studio and a beautiful canal view from the large bay window. It’s a nice walk to the beach, and the tram takes about 15 minutes to Centraal Station. Inside, everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, with plenty of storage and hangers, excellent bedding, and really plush soft towels. The studio is beautifully designed and has what you need, including a toaster and microwave. The bathroom is comfortable and the water pressure is great. Marjolein was a fantastic host, generous with local tips and understanding when we had a small issue on our first night. Her check-in videos were clear. The photos she provides are so accurate and lovely that I hardly took any myself. One useful detail: with the Dolce Gusto machine, turn the circle around the bars to choose the setting before pressing the buttons.

The owners leave a guidebook with helpful information on transport, tickets, food, attractions and the neighbourhood. The tram stop is just steps away, and the city centre takes 12-15 minutes to reach. If you rent a bike, it’s about 30 minutes, but the view makes the ride worthwhile. The place is stunning, overlooking the canal, and the hosts were the best we’ve ever had. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows even more so.

The hosts really made the stay, they were warm, attentive, and made arrival easy. The place itself is quiet, very clean, comfortable, and well cared for. It’s in a great spot, with public transport every seven minutes and the center of Amsterdam about 15 minutes away. Highly recommended!
