I only stopped by to have a look, but the architecture made a strong first impression. It’s a unique, eye-catching stack of traditional Dutch-style houses and very Instagrammable. The atmosphere feels modern while still typically Dutch, mixing old charm with a contemporary vibe. Even without staying, walking around and seeing the hotel up close was a nice experience. It looks like an interesting, distinctive place to check out in the Amsterdam area.

We loved our stay so much that my little family wished we’d booked longer. The hotel staff were amazing, and they decorated the room with rose petals and balloons for my partner’s 38th birthday. It cost €20 and was worth it. The only small issue was that one of the lifts outside wasn’t working, which wasn’t the hotel’s fault. We had to take the pram onto the escalator, but reception pointed us to a working lift, so it wasn’t a problem for long. The location is perfect if you want to stay outside the city center, with the station a two-minute walk away and Amsterdam only 12 minutes by train. Lovely hotel, and I’d recommend it 1000%.

Breakfast was good, it wasn’t too busy, and there were plenty of seats. The location also makes a good base for spending some time and visiting nearby attractions. We arrived Friday evening with spa access and breakfast included. The room looked alright, but the mini-fridge was empty, and being told to drink tap water was a bit disappointing 😂. It was cold in the room, too, and there was no way to adjust the heating. The spa wasn’t great: the pool water was cold, and the sauna rooms were small, with room for four people, maybe six at most.

The room was quite spacious by European standards, and there are two convenience stores nearby. The hotel is one of the city’s landmarks and feels worth the price, especially with Amsterdam Centraal only a 15-20 minute train ride away.
