Buitengoed de Panoven

We had ten small private bedrooms in our accommodation, each with two bunk beds. It's a nice place for a group, with good equipment and friendly, helpful hosts. The tour of the historic site was really interesting and well worth the time.

Buitengoed de Panoven is one of the happiest memories from our three-month cycling trip through seven countries. It was pouring, and we felt pretty down because all the nearby campsites were unattended. A few helpful locals got us in touch with the owners, who kindly found us a place in a shed to shelter from the rain. I still keep a Buitengoed de Panoven brochure on my wall to remember that kindness, and the wonderful things you can come across in a downpour. Highly recommended.

Everything's perfect here: the beer, the place, and the staff. Great spot to stop for a beer after a walk. And if you don't get the weather right, no worries, you can sit inside. Even that's perfect.

The place is quite old, though they seem to be renovating it now. We booked it for our wedding, including the grote droogloods and most of the rooms in the lodge and comfort kamers. The organization was really poor. They promised things they didn't deliver, including things that were deal breakers for us. We only found out a few weeks before the wedding that they couldn't follow through, so we made a plan B. By then it was too late to book another wedding venue. I wouldn't recommend this group accommodation for large groups or events, as they don't seem equipped to handle them.
