The room was good value, and the location worked fine for us. We'd read reports about possible bed bugs, which made us a bit concerned, but we didn't run into any problems. It's definitely a cheaper option, and we enjoyed our stay.

There are some easy improvements they could make, like better overall cleaning, putting instant coffee and tea in every room, and providing a spare blanket. Still, it's a cheap place and decent value. Some rooms have nice balconies with city views, and public transport is nearby. One unrelated tip: avoid taking a cab from the airport. Mine cost €62 for a 17-minute ride.

The balcony was lovely, and there are shops nearby for snacks or takeaway. Staff also responded fairly quickly when we reported a problem. But getting around was a big part of what spoiled the trip. We were told the hotel was only a few minutes from the airport and easy for reaching Amsterdam city centre, but there was no airport shuttle. We paid 50€ to get there and back, and there were no bus or taxi services from the hotel. We ended up walking two hours to the city centre. The room had two twin beds pushed together, which wasn't comfortable, the shower worked poorly, and the key failed about half the time. When I asked a staff member for help getting a taxi, he just stared at me and left as soon as he could, as if it wasn't his problem. I wasn't asking him to call one, and he did eventually give us a number to try. If you're visiting Amsterdam city, I'd avoid this place. The way it was advertised felt misleading.

The room was quite small, and the balcony may have been bigger than the room itself. Still, we had a good stay. The receptionist and the rest of the staff were really helpful, giving us ideas for the area and directions to the train for Amsterdam.
