TULIP Hotels & Residences - Zwolle

The location is nice, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Check-in was organized and went well, and the girl at reception was friendly. The room, though, was filthy, especially the shower, had a few broken sockets on the wall, and the bed was not comfortable at all. We returned from a party nearby around midnight and were met by a grumpy, unfriendly night Porter. He seemed not to believe we were guests until we showed our door pass and room number. He didn’t welcome us or even say good night, just opened the front door and nearly slammed it in our faces. At €164 per night, this feels expensive for a hotel like this. Hopefully they make changes and improve it.

You’re paying for the location here. The hotel is very basic and doesn’t feel luxurious, and it looks nowhere near as good as it does in the photos. So, again, what you’re paying for is the location.

After months had passed, we contacted Campanile again because the artist would soon be performing nearby. They refused to offer even one complimentary night as an apology, saying it was “too late.” We’d never received proper follow-up or an adequate apology, and they offered no compensation either then or afterward. The problem began when we returned late at night from a show at Hedon as artists. We opened our assigned room and found another guest already inside. She screamed in terror and, panicking because she thought she was under attack, tried to attack us. It was chaotic and traumatic for everyone. We went straight to reception, but the staff were disorganized and unhelpful. We waited in the lobby for what felt like forever while the receptionist slowly looked for another room, seeming clueless and giving no explanation or apology. This was especially unacceptable so late at night. We finally got into a new room at 2:45 AM, but the stress stayed with us all night. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and accountability was staggering. Campanile’s policies seem cheap and clueless, and they clearly showed no regard for guests’ safety or comfort. If you want a safe, stress-free stay, avoid this place at all costs.

The design is stylish and elegant, and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely polite and professional, with excellent service. I highly recommend it for a relaxing, classy stay.
