The restaurant on the top floor has a really cool spinning floor, and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast brought to your own room was good too. The hotel itself is beautiful, with large rooms, a big whirlpool bath, and a shower with a steam function. If you like unusual places, this one’s worth trying.

There were a lot of little frustrations here, and the service and communication could have been better. We could hear people using the elevators from our room, and the elevators themselves were freezing. The “borg” didn’t feel luxurious, especially after we’d paid up front. There was also a note warning that careless use of water could mean a €300 fine. I understand they don’t want guests damaging the rooms, but that seemed a bit much for a bathroom that should be somewhat waterproof. The shower’s steam function sends very hot steam straight at your legs, so watch out. Internet access had been turned off and locked on the smart TV, so we couldn’t use Netflix or much else through our own accounts. There were fewer than 20 channels, with only about four in each language. The room itself was nice, but really cold. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment: very expensive for the small portions and poor quality. You have to fill in a note and take it to reception every day, then wait in your room for the breakfast delivery. The choices are limited: one slice of brown or white bread, small pancakes or a single croissant, yogurt with about three pieces of fruit, and a tiny fruit salad. Having it brought to the room sounds fun, but it left us stuck in the cold, waiting and needing to stay awake. That’s worse because there’s nowhere near the hotel to get breakfast, or much of anything to eat or drink during the day.

The food was good and fairly priced, perhaps a little on the high side, with reasonable portions. The hamburger, though, belongs in the trash. Still, it’s worth coming for a meal, and I was satisfied with my visit. The location is very, very nice. I wouldn’t expect many guests to use the helicopter deck, and the floor covering needs replacing. I’d choose PVC in a fishbone pattern to bring out the national character.

At night we were glad we’d brought earbuds. It’s quite noisy, and even though the room next door was empty, we could hear the whole hotel, especially people going up and down in the elevator. It’s a nice maritime-themed hotel, and I’d recommend it overall, but there were a few snags. The room was comfortable and sort of clean, though the bath had hairs in it that definitely weren’t ours. We loved the spacious bathroom and its enormous jacuzzi. While filling the tub, the water went cold and wouldn’t heat back up however high we turned it. The next morning there was no problem. The shower pressure could be stronger, since the side massage jets didn’t work well at the same time as the top one. There was no small bar of soap, so we used shower gel to wash our hands. Reception wasn’t great either. We asked to change our dinner reservation; she said she would, then moved on without doing it.

The location is really cool, and the room was clean and nice, with an incredible sauna and jacuzzi bathroom. A few things kept this from being five stars: there was no fridge, so we had to go downstairs and pay for everything; we couldn’t open the window for fresh air; and the food and restaurant were overpriced. Breakfast was very basic, just bread, cheese, ham, and butter, with nothing special.
