The owners were friendly, and the area around the barn is beautiful, with lots of hiking and cycling options. They’ve converted it into two new studios for two people each. Our studio had a comfortable bed, a nice living room, and its own bathroom with a wonderful shower. There’s a shared breakfast room where you can make coffee and tea, plus a small kitchen at the back where four people can sit and eat together. It’s fine for simple cooking, though a bit disappointing if you like to cook.

I stayed here once for work in Zwolle, and it was one of the best overnight stays I’ve had for work in recent years. The surroundings are beautiful, the complex is magnificent, and the beds are comfortable. My host gave me a warm welcome even though I arrived late at night.

The rooms were ideal and very quiet, and the breakfast was super delicious, made with local products. The hosts gave us a very friendly welcome. Beautiful surroundings, perfect for cycling or a multi-day getaway. Highly recommended.

The owners were lovely, always there if I had a question or fancied a chat, and I couldn’t have hoped for a better place to stay. I found VreugdeRijk when I needed a nice B&B for my 16-week internship in Zwolle. On warm days I could cool off in the garden pond, and on dark, rainy ones I was happy staying inside in the cozy living room and bedroom. Everything was close at hand. I just wish I’d had more time to enjoy the surroundings.

A warm welcome, an atmospheric room, a lovely bed, and a well-prepared breakfast. Fantastic B&B, highly recommended.
