The forest setting could be appealing if that's what you're after, but grilling isn't allowed at the campsite. We decided not to stay because the price seemed a bit high for what you get. The showers and toilets were quite basic.

It was okay for a visit to Alesund, as long as you don't expect the standard of campsites along Norwegian trails.

The bathrooms were filthy, and it looked like neither they nor the kitchen had ever been cleaned. The camping was disgusting, the worst I've seen. It was 450 Kr a night, and showers cost extra too. 😡

The showers were horribly dirty, and they wouldn't refund the token for an unused shower. At the entrance, the guy was laid back with his AirPods in, looking at his phone, and barely paid attention when we needed help finding the right camping spot.

It's a small campsite with just one narrow strip for tents, and it was already very full when we arrived. They asked us to check whether we could pitch our tent before paying; we did manage to find a spot. The showers always seem cold and not very clean, which is disappointing, especially since this is the only camping option in Ålesund. The location is close to downtown, just a few minutes' drive, and there's a beach and an incredible view nearby.
