Breakfast had loads of choice, and the view from the tables was impressive. The room was spotless and very spacious, though it felt a bit sterile, as did the hotel, especially with so few guests around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Triple glazing kept the E6 noise out, even though the building sits over the bridge. Parking is spacious, and there’s a nearby petrol station with prices that are good by local standards. Getting to reception from the northbound side is quite a walk. The lift made worrying creaking noises. On one of our two rides, it paused at floor 5 when we’d asked to go from 6 to 5, then took us down to 1 without opening the doors. We pressed 5 again and hit the door-open button as soon as we arrived, which worked. After that we avoided the lift.

We got there sooner by taking the other exit on the northbound, eastbound side, after I overrode Google Maps, which had sent us past the right exit and back. You can reach the hotel from both highway exits. Breakfast was really good, with plenty to choose from, and I especially liked the deviled eggs. The public areas have a great view over the fjord. Our room was far too hot, though, and opening the windows let in too much road noise. The hotel’s location over the highway is handy. Decent stay, but it could have been better.

The hotel spans the E6, and there’s a 24-hour gas station within walking distance. It was an OK stay for a mid-range price, with free parking and a good breakfast overlooking the Trondheimsfjord.

Breakfast was great and the staff were wonderful. The twin beds were nice and roomy. The building feels old, a bit like an old hospital, but it was fine for a night and I’d stay again. There’s no EV charging at the hotel, though there is a charger at the gas station.
