I really liked the cozy common area, which is still big enough for plenty of people, and the restaurant was very good with a great ambiance. Breakfast was good too. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and it's a close walk to town. The shared bathrooms didn't bother me since there are several, so I can't imagine there'd be a long wait. The walls in the rooms are thin, but réception has ear plugs available. I'll definitely stay here again when I return to Svalbard.

The check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff made us feel welcome. Mary-Ann’s Polarrigg was clean, well looked after, and nicely organized, with comfortable rooms and a distinctive charm that suits Svalbard. It has a lovely atmosphere. A solid stay, and I'd happily come back.

The hotel sits between the town's two polar bear boundary signs. It's close to the centre, yet quiet and dark enough to enjoy the sky. A stunning place, hard not to love.

The room was a former miner’s cabin, so it was small and very basic. I'd give the room itself 2 stars, but the rest of the hotel deserves all 5. The atmosphere is really distinctive, like stepping back in time or wandering through a museum. Breakfast had an excellent range of choices, and the restaurant is beautiful. I also appreciated having tea and coffee available around the clock in the lounge by reception.

From the welcome through to the rooms and communal showers, I loved my time at Mary-Ann’s. The lounge is cozy and fantastic, with fresh coffee or tea always on hand. Can't wait to come back.
