The airport bus stops right outside, which makes getting here very convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful, and even helped us order a taxi. Our room was a decent size, quiet, and clean. We thought the polar bear chocolates on the bed were so cute. The public area is cozy and quiet, a nice place to sit and relax if you like the atmosphere. Just know that you need to take your shoes off as soon as you enter and wear the hotel's slippers. Outdoor shoes are kept in a room beside the main entrance.

A lovely experience overall, with warm rooms, a nice breakfast, a fantastic restaurant, and diligent staff. The hotel is very accessible at the south end of central Longyearbyen. At the time of my visit, tap water wasn't recommended for drinking because of high Manganese levels. That's not the hotel's fault, the Svalbard local authority had messed things up a little. My small complaint is that you had to go down to reception for water instead of being able to take a small bottle with you. This probably won't be an issue in the future. The walls are a little thin, too.

The location couldn't have been better, right on the main street among the restaurants and shops, and close to the airport bus stop. My room was a good size, and everything was clean and nice. Breakfast had a great selection. I was very pleased I stayed here.

Our standard room was in a separate building, so getting drinking water or going to breakfast meant walking outside. Our friend had also booked a standard room but got one in the main building, so it seems to depend on what you're given at check-in. The room was worn down, the Wi-Fi kept cutting out because the connection was poor, and the TV only had one channel. None of the staff we encountered were friendly or welcoming. The man with a mustache at reception was outright rude several times when I spoke with him. There are probably better places to stay in this Arctic town.

Dinner was of a very high standard, almost a surprise for this hotel. The breakfast buffet was only just adequate by comparison. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, too. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town, with many places within a safe walking distance. The main building has a lift, but the second building a few feet away has only stairs, so check when booking if you need lift access. The main building also has the breakfast area, a small bar, and a small lounge with a fire. I chose a superior room and found it adequate, with enough space for three cases. It had a shower over the bath, radiators, and a very small kettle. The hotel asks guests to remove their shoes at the entrance and provides slippers, but they've been used, so bring your own if you prefer. There's parking available. I found the hotel very convenient and would stay again.
