Nedre Strand Hytteutleie

We’ve stayed here twice now and are gradually winding down our motorhome trip on the way to Kristiansand. It’s a lovely spot by the Nisser, and the owner is always helpful and quick to step in. The toilets and bathrooms aren’t the newest, but they’re kept clean and tidy. We’re always happy to come back!!!

There’s plenty of space between the camper vans and cabins, and everything was very clean. They also have some nice cabins for people without a van. The toilets and shower room are old but clean, though there are only two toilets.

A good little place in this small Telemark community, with very reasonable prices. Food at the local shop can be a shock, though cheaper stores are about 15 minutes away. It’s all about peace and relaxation here. Kids can play around the campsite or walk four minutes to the beach, with Nisser’s calm water and a really nice playground. You can rent boats and play volleyball. The bathroom facilities are in an old but nice barn. Some toilets and showers were broken or closed, but I found the facilities perfectly usable.

We arrived on motorcycles late in the evening and rented a 750kr cabin. They also charged a 600kr deposit in case anything went wrong, saying it would be returned as soon as possible. We were told not to hand the key back and could just leave it by the door. A few days later, the deposit still wasn’t in my account. When I called the owner, he said we’d checked out late and left the cabin unclean, so they’d had to hire a cleaner. Both claims were completely false. I tried calling again, left voicemail, and emailed, but got no reply. It felt like I’d been robbed in the most cowardly way. I wondered how many tourists this might happen to, when they’re already far away and don’t want the hassle of going to the police. These people are thieves and cowards. Don’t go there, you’ll regret it.
