The location is still one we love, and the staff and food were good, but we were a bit disappointed this time after staying here before. Parts of the hotel feel tired, and the rooms let us down. Bar prices were higher than along Karl Johans in Oslo!!

Across the road there’s lovely water and a fun playground. My daughter and I had a fantastic time exploring the clear, cool, sparkling water and playing there. There’s also a little market within walking distance, and we enjoyed the delicious food at the hotel restaurant. The staff were friendly. I loved staying at the Straand Hotel. It’s away from the busy cities, and the beautiful setting made it feel like stepping back to a more carefree time. The older building is a bit rustic and has lots of unique areas to explore. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had a lovely view. The stay was relaxing and rejuvenating, and I’d love to come back someday.

The restaurant food was perfect, especially the moose stew. It was rich, full of flavor, and unforgettable. The staff were truly some of the kindest we’ve met, super, super sweet. Highly recommend this charming hotel!

The hotel has a lot of atmosphere and an interesting history, and the staff are friendly. I especially want to thank the restaurant and kitchen teams for the excellent service, their care for the little ones, and the varied, tasty food. Having a pool at the hotel is a big plus. Wishing the hotel prosperity and many wonderful guests.
