We pitched our tent here for two nights in September and were nearly alone, which we really appreciated. The facilities were good, with a kitchen, laundry, souvenirs and groceries, and the toilets and showers were clean. You can also charge a car at reception for 400kr.

A nice lakeside spot, right by the road, though there wasn’t much noise from it. We paid just 200kr for two people, a tent and a car, and the washer and dryer were free. The staff were super nice. There aren’t many showers or toilets, but it worked out fine. I’d happily recommend it for a night or two.

We arrived late after wandering around the region and looking desperately for somewhere to sleep. The reception had closed, but that wasn’t a problem, we could book online or sort it out the next day. We had two tents and were given a really warm welcome. We planned one night and ended up staying three. Leaving today made me a little sad. The whole team was friendly and did what they could to help. The site is beautiful and has loads of useful things, including laundry and drying, boat and kayak rentals, a sauna, and a small kitchen that saved us several times. After two weeks on the road, finally doing laundry was a dream. We also enjoyed shopping at the owners’ own shop, and came away with more souvenirs than planned because they were so great. We were there September 8th to 10th and had a wonderful time. There’s plenty to see in the region. As a German, I’d say people here seem to live in the future, and are more relaxed and friendly than almost anyone I know. Best wishes from Nicolai and Sina. I hope to come back in the next few years.

The free washer and dryer were the one good thing, though only one washing machine was working because the other was broken. The kitchen was very small, with one sink and one stove for the whole site. The view included workers’ containers, which didn’t make for much of a holiday panorama, and the far end of the campsite smelled strongly of garbage. We and everyone nearby noticed it, and people left as soon as possible the next day. Showers were included in the price, but the sanitary facilities were dirty and below standard. Toilet paper was missing several times, so we had to bring our own. A squeegee in the showers would help keep you from standing in the previous users’ grime, and some showers were broken. This really wasn’t a nice campsite.

The owners were very friendly, and had only rebuilt the campsite about a month earlier. We spent two nights in our campervan, with a choice of pitches by the water or in the meadow. There are seven toilets, most with showers, plus a beach volleyball court and a little beach on the lake with a few boats and canoes. The sport climbing area is a 15-minute walk away. There’s a reception with a small supermarket. The site is right by the road, as often happens in the narrow valleys of southwest Norway, but there’s very little traffic in the evening and at night, so it wasn’t a problem.
