The excursions were very well organised, with excellent, knowledgeable guides. We tried both husky sledding and whale watching, and they were special experiences. In January, we could step straight outside the centrally located hotel and see the Northern Lights, which made the stay unforgettable. The room was comfortable, with a very soft bed and nicely dimmed lighting. The restaurant served excellent food, and the service was efficient and attentive. From reception through the restaurant, the staff were kind and professional, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and well organised throughout. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return. Highly recommend it.

We didn't stay overnight, but the service was great and the coffee was good. You can rent a sled there too.

The room had no fridge, the sauna didn't work, and neither did the coffee machine in the morning. It was also incredibly stuffy, with no ventilation. The walls are thin, so you hear everything, from someone upstairs snoring loudly to seagulls outside. On top of that, the pub across the street has parties all night, making sleep difficult. There's no hotel parking, so you have to use paid public parking or a garage, which isn't cheap in Norway. The website doesn't mention that. There is barely a TV in the room either. You need to download an app on your phone to turn it on, which makes no sense, especially for older guests or anyone without a smartphone. I don't recommend this hotel. It doesn't deserve three stars, and I won't be back.

We stayed at Canyon Hotel for two weeks. The breakfast didn't change during that time, and we found it hit or miss. But the biggest problem for me was the terrible Saturday night noise from the disco downstairs, which went on until 3 a.m. As a paying guest, I shouldn't have to put up with that. I finally fell asleep at 3:30. The website doesn't mention the noise at all, or we definitely wouldn't have stayed. It's not acceptable.

The room was clean and nicely decorated, but getting any sleep was hard, and I'm not a light sleeper. In room 208, the walls were paper thin, the window barely blocked sound, and the plumbing ran right beside the bed. You'd better hope your neighbor doesn't take a long shower.
