Our room was at the back, so the view was pretty limited. I imagine the front apartments have one of the best views in town. The place is just around the corner from the Joker grocery store, and you can nearly see it when you step off the ferry. We’d expected it to be right in the village, though. The host was super responsive, and the apartment was bigger than my house in Seattle!

We had six adults and there was loads of room for everyone to spread out. The apartment also has plenty of child-friendly things, including a crib, eating utensils, toys, stair gates and other safety features. It’s stocked with cozy duvets, blackout curtains, pillows and throws, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook fish from our morning trip with Balestrand Dripfiske downstairs. The chartered fishing boat Balestrand Dripfiske was a great activity for our stay, too. You’re close to the water, the grocery store, activities and the transport ferry, just a minute away. Even with such a central location, it was quiet. We liked having two levels of balconies overlooking the fjord, where we could have coffee or dinner. It made a great base for exploring Balestrand and the nearby fjord villages.

There was lots of space, and everything was clean. It felt a little too clinically clean to be fully comfortable, but everything else was fine.

Balestrand is a pretty little town and a handy base for excursions, tours and hikes. We felt right at home in this large, comfortable holiday apartment. It was clean and very well equipped.
