We only stayed two nights, and I wanted more time there. The old house has lovely views from every window, plus the breakfast room, lounges, games room and luggage storage. Tea and coffee are available by reception. Our room was in the newer block behind it, which felt a little dated but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and you could ask for anything that wasn't out. It's a quirky place, just a five-minute walk from the ferry. Despite what some reviews say, it's not up a hill, just a short driveway.

The owner takes pride in the family's heritage and shared useful information about the local church. The town is small, though pricey even by Norwegian standards. We had two rooms: one was modern, with a balcony and a fabulous view. The other was very basic, and heavy condensation on its window blocked the view. Both bathrooms were very basic too.

A good location, and a comfortable, friendly place in a historic building with rooms to match. Breakfast was decent, though nothing stood out apart from the huge fresh raspberries.

The eclectic furnishings make the hotel interesting to look around. We slept well in comfortable beds, and our room came with a balcony and a sea view. Breakfast was good, especially the salmon and prawn cocktail. A really nice hotel.
