Solsiden Brygge

We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on the night we stayed, which was unforgettable. The room was beautiful and had a kitchen, and the front desk staff were really friendly. Breakfast wasn't included, but there was a sauna room.

The staff were the highlight, really cool, friendly, and helpful. Our flight was super early, so they prepared breakfast for us to take away. The restaurant and bar were good too. The location is nice, with beautiful views from the room, though the room itself was okay and nothing special. It was quite hard to find reception because you have to go around the whole building, and there was no sign when we arrived. Hotel guests can use the sauna in the evening. Thanks a lot!

Of all the places we stayed in Lofoten, Solsiden Brygge Hotel was the biggest disappointment. The amenities were below standard. After a long day, we were looking forward to the sauna, but it took more than an hour to warm up and still never got hot. The hot tub was only available from 6-9 PM, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. We chose the hotel's restaurant because of the glowing reviews, but that was disappointing too. The waiter forgot our bread, and the steak they recommended for my partner was incredibly tough and hard to eat. I ordered halibut and was served whale, a dark meat. My partner and I immediately looked at each other like, “This is not halibut.” When we raised it, the waiter seemed confused and offered no solution. They should have comped the meal, but we were charged for someone else's mistake. The breakfast was the last letdown. Compared with the other places we stayed, this hotel had the most limited and underwhelming choices. If you're considering it, save your money and go somewhere else. There are much better accommodations in Lofoten for your money and time.

Alex made the trip so enjoyable, and his suggestions were amazing. We were traveling to celebrate a new job, and this was probably our favorite part of the trip. The lodge was lovely inside and easy to find. Breakfast was included and really nice every morning, try the brown cheese. Alex was so communicative. We loved staying here and hope to come back!
