Bergen Camping Park

The shower was hot, but otherwise this was an awful experience. It felt like a glorified car park, packed in to fit as many people as possible. You have to cross a busy road to reach the facilities. The cabins looked as though they were being used by people going to work. Grey water and chemical waste went into a hole in the ground. There was nowhere for dog waste or general rubbish, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with dogs.

Don’t pitch a tent here. The price made it look like a decent spot, but I’d rather sleep in my car somewhere with privacy. We arrived around 1730 and found reception closed. After we flagged down an employee, they called the owner or receptionist, who basically told us to pitch anywhere and pointed to a small patch of grass between two buildings. The washroom, kitchen, laundry, and other services were unclean. The last straw was the garbage smell from a dumpster close to the tent spot we’d been directed to. We quickly changed plans and found somewhere else to stay.

A good place to stay for visiting Bergen, with a great site and well-appointed facilities. I called in at Christmas 2025. There wasn’t any grit or salt on the roads, which made towing a caravan out over the entrance ramp almost impossible.

We always come to Bergen Camping Park when we’re in Bergen, and it was good to be back. The cabin is nice, and the staff are great, always helpful and very pleasant. Today Lene And Sarah served us fish and chips for my wife and a burger with chips for me. The food was very good and inexpensive. We recommend both staying here and eating here.
