Moxy Bergen

The room was spotless and comfortable, and I really enjoyed the food and tasty cocktails. Breakfast was excellent too. Everyone at the hotel was so welcoming, especially the reception team, who were incredibly kind and friendly. A wonderful stay at Moxy Bergen, and I’d gladly return. It definitely deserves five stars, and I’d recommend it.

The staff were very helpful, and getting around is easy enough: it’s fairly close to most things, with a nice walk, or you can use a scooter or bike. It is a little farther from the waterfront. The Moxy style is funky if you haven’t tried it, kind of like an adult hostel. It’s not really for us, though I understand why people enjoy it. Parking is a bit odd: go around to the back northeast side of the hotel near the hospital, pull in, and it takes a picture of your plate. Pay at the kiosk in front of the hospital when you leave. Skip the parking app, it’s awful and will waste your time.

The location is excellent, close to lots of attractions. The staff were cooperative and did their best to help. They promptly handled most of my requests through the Marriott app, which I used because there was no phone in the room. They also kindly approved a late check-out. The room itself was quite small and missing some basics: a wardrobe, refrigerator, kettle, safe and slippers. I appreciated that they brought a kettle when I asked.

Ingrid made our check-in feel so welcoming. She was extremely friendly. My wife and I are on our honeymoon, all the way from Calgary in Canada, and we’re really grateful for Ingrid’s help throughout our stay. We’d recommend the Moxy to anyone.
