The decor and location were good, and housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the room clean. Thanks as well to the front desk for arranging a taxi to the airport. Breakfast, though, left me feeling that Asian guests weren’t being treated attentively. We stayed several nights, and staff seemed irritated when trying to find us a table. Because of my back problems, I asked to sit on the sofa and was refused. Once, they said they’d get us a sofa table and kept us waiting, then let guests who arrived later take it and seated us in the farthest corner. On our last morning, before check-out, we went down early with just two tables occupied, but staff still seemed reluctant to find us a place. I had to ask whether the sofa was reserved and if we could sit there, since we only had 20 minutes to eat before leaving. They let us sit only then, saying it wasn’t reserved. Honestly, even though breakfast was meant to be included every day, I didn’t use the service because it made me uncomfortable. Next time I’m in town, I’ll try another hotel where guests are treated better.

We chose this beautiful place for one night in February before boarding a Hurtigruten cruise, and it worked out so well. The room was lovely, breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were fantastic. Really happy with our choice.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a big self-serve spread and an à la carte menu included. Our room had all the amenities we expected, and the staff were lovely. The hotel is in a handy spot, just minutes from the waterfront and Bryggen, and about a five-minute walk from the airport light rail stop. It was Bergen’s most important bank in the past, and the marble pillars in the reception, bar, and restaurant are a striking reminder. A wonderful stay at a five-star hotel, despite Google Maps listing it as four.

From April 1-4, we had a lovely room and slept really well in the super-comfortable bed. The staff were amazingly helpful, and breakfast each morning was fantastic. The location makes it easy to get around Bergen and nearby places. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Jakob was attentive and consistently friendly throughout our stay. We also finished with a delicious meal at the hotel restaurant, where Johannes gave excellent suggestions for what to try. The service was quick, efficient, and so kind. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Bergen.
