We were close to everything, with the port and city centre under five minutes away, and the room itself felt modern and comfortable. The service was a letdown, though. We arrived to find no towels, and booking a room clean in advance didn’t help much: only some parts were cleaned.

The room felt like a shoebox, and the bathroom layout wasn’t great. Staff were friendly and tried to help, but things seemed disorganized. The location is excellent, and breakfast was pretty good.

Breakfast was a buffet and probably the best part of the hotel. The receptionist was kind and explained that hotels in Norway don’t have air conditioning; she offered fans, which cooled the room a little. It was still very hot, even in mid May. The bathtub leaked, and the basement gym was unattended. Bring your own water.

The breakfast and its service were good, and the hotel is in a great spot for tourists. In the room, though, the bathroom lights didn’t work, the air conditioning was out, and the windows wouldn’t open properly, so there wasn’t enough ventilation.

The rooms are clean and cute, though they seem better suited to heading out than spending much time inside. Staff were kind and respectful, and breakfast was lovely. The hotel is near the city centre, with several places to eat an easy walk away. The elevators are tiny, and the hallway carpet sometimes smells a bit musty, which I think may be from the damp weather outside. There are some really pretty views, too.
