Solneset Farm

The converted barn is a roomy, comfortable lounge and kitchen, with games, books, tables, and decor that suits the area. The showers and sauna are modern and brand new, with heated floors, and the facilities were the best I've come across. We were there in early September, check-in was easy, and the owners were very friendly and gave us useful hiking information. Add the beautiful views, and this is easily my favorite campsite in Norway. A delightful farm and camping site.

The bathrooms are pretty and super clean, and with a bit of planning we always found one free. Still, since the campsite is popular and growing, it could use more toilets, showers, and dishwashing space. It's about 30 minutes from Bergen by bike and train or bus and train. Our almost two-year-old loved the animals, including bunnies, horses, chickens, and ducks, and the play areas. The sauna was a treat for us parents while she slept. We also had stunning views, lots of space, and friendly service. Big thanks for the horseback ride, our daughter had the time of her life, and so did my wife, haha.

There were over 30 families staying in mid-August, sharing four shower and toilet rooms, one family bathroom, and just two sinks for dishes. Be ready to queue for a toilet, shower, or sink. The staff were friendly and attentive, but more facilities would make this campsite much better.

Horses and rabbits were right beside our camping spot, and there was even a sauna to use. You can book breakfast or dinner if you like. My only small gripe was that there wasn't a plug for a hairdryer in the shower room, though there was one just outside. Really nice site, I'd recommend it and would come back.
