Frugga Feriehus

The living room had a lovely view, even though the weather wasn't kind to us. We stayed in a very nice cottage in Vesterålen after Svolvær during our Norway trip in September 2025. The curtains were a real problem: they didn't block the light, so we had to hang blankets up each evening to sleep. In September it was already too bright, and summer would be impossible. For the Northern Lights, we had to leave the cottage because of the harbor lights right outside. At least the walk to a darker spot was only five minutes.

The house was furnished so thoughtfully and comfortably that we didn't find ourselves wanting for anything. We spent nearly a week in this lovingly restored home, which is more than a hundred years old. From the house, the midnight sun can light up the landscape through the night when it appears, almost heavenly. We also watched gulls nesting behind the house and their wobbly fledglings wandering onto the veranda. Add the sea view and mountain panorama, and it's a wonderful place to stay for a few days or longer.

A bigger bed, or a double, would be a welcome addition. The cottage itself is small, cozy, and has a sea view. It's very well equipped, especially the kitchen, and there's a washer and dryer too.

We spotted the midnight sun from the window, hiked in the mountains and visited the three beaches, with plenty of rare birds to watch along the way. The holiday home is modern and has everything you need, set in the special natural landscape of the Vesterålen islands. The hosts were very friendly.
