Ørland Kysthotel

The fjord views from the rooms were incredible, even with construction happening during my stay. I was very comfortable, and every meal was excellent. With many nearby stores closed, though, I was surprised reception couldn’t offer basic supplies like toothpaste, either for purchase or free.

I stayed here on my Norway trip in 2022, and the water, hills and mountains, and ferry made for an amazing view. The cozy atmosphere and delicious breakfast were highlights too. It was a great price for a four-star hotel, and I liked having a connection to the culture center building.

I’m glad I stayed at Kysthotell this time. It saved me the commute, and I was pleased with the clean, functional rooms, lovely breakfast, and beautiful views. It’s convenient for Brekstad, and great for what it is. I usually stay in Trondheim and take the ferry; the accommodation and nightlife there are better. If I come back with my partner, we’ll stay in Trondheim again.

The breakfast had a lot to choose from, including fruit, cereal, spreads, pastries, meatballs, yogurt, coffee, and parts for a cooked breakfast. Just tell the gatekeeper your room number before eating, or there’ll be anger. Coffee is available from the machines, but it’s potent, so if you like sleeping, don’t have it after 1800hrs. Guests and conference visitors can also make tea. The Orland Kysthotell is probably the swankiest place in Brexstad, with a TV room where you can cast from your phone to the smart television through Google Chromecast. Other casting software may be available. Washing your clothes at the hotel costs many monies. To save money, you can hand wash in the sink using the complimentary shower soap and hand wash. Drying them isn’t a problem either: wipe the underfloor-heated bathroom floor clean with toilet roll and leave your clothes there overnight. Then you might have enough saved to visit the hotel bar and afford some ice with your coca cola. All in all, a great stay with brilliant staff, lovely rooms, and awesome drying facilities. The ferry port is right on your door stop, and you can motor over to Trondheim to do something during the day.
