Hotell Jæren

We had a room for three, with a queen bed and a fold-out bed for our daughter, and the price through Expedia was very reasonable for Norway at around £100 a night including breakfast. I stayed five nights while visiting family, and the room was clean, quiet, nicely decorated, and had a very comfortable bed. The shower was powerful, with toiletries provided. Breakfast ran until 10:30 and had hot choices like bacon, sausage, eggs, and mushrooms, along with plenty of continental options. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel is right in central Bryne, close to shops and restaurants, and the train station is only a few minutes away.

Breakfast was good, especially if you like savory options. The hotel itself is nice, with a medium-sized room, a large bathroom, and some nice views. But on the first floor you can’t keep the blind open. The bigger issue was the reception staff: I was treated badly, and I saw them speaking back to customers and making exclamations after those customers left. It’s sad, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was pretty good, but we left with two sore backs. Our family room slept four, but the bunk bed mattresses were far too thin. My 14-year-old couldn’t sleep because it was so uncomfortable, so I swapped places with him. I hardly slept either, and both of us woke with painful backs. The room was expensive, too.

The bread at breakfast is a must-try! I stayed one night on a business trip and enjoyed the food, the service, and the breakfast. The location is beautiful, too.
