They’re restoring the house and its authentic feel with modest details and real respect for its history and traditions. The hosts were warm and very helpful, looking after their guests so they could have a relaxed, comfortable, and positive stay.

Loved the atmosphere, and the food was homemade with ingredients from local suppliers. A place you have to visit. 👍

The hilltop setting overlooking the lake is so peaceful, and the view feels like balm for the soul. Marianne and Lars Harald did so much to make our stays comfortable, and this place has a lasting spot in our hearts. If you’re in the area or passing through, I highly recommend Granum Gård. My brother Sascha and I first stopped here on our trip through Norway in July 2024, before heading on. The restoration of the old farmhouse was so thoughtful that it felt like stepping back in time. Marianne and her husband, Lars Harald, gave us a warm welcome, showed us around, and told us about the farm’s history. Talking with them was easy and relaxed. After a few days in Femundsmarka, we agreed to return to Fluberg for two nights on our way home and rest up from the trip. We felt welcome and well looked after, and heard many stories from the area, including some from the Second World War. In a very old, impressive house next door, Marianne and Lars Harald told us about the young German soldiers stationed there during the war and showed us several relics from that time. We had coffee and homemade cake too. There’s also a bunker nearby you can visit. That history lesson was probably the most fascinating and interesting of my life. We’ll never forget those moments, and we’re very grateful to our hosts. After our first night, which was probably the most restful we’ve ever had in a hotel, we enjoyed a lovingly prepared breakfast with local specialties.
