The rooms have new furniture, and it’s a really calm, peaceful place. There’s no breakfast or restaurant, but the prices are low enough that staying for a few weeks is doable. If you’re traveling by car, it’s a great base: there are two lakes nearby, lots of secluded beaches, and places to fish and hike. I’d recommend it for a quiet weekend outside Oslo.

The rooms were okay, but they got very hot. You can open the windows, though there are no screens to keep mosquitoes out. Checking in was a hassle because there was nobody at the front desk, so we had to call a couple of numbers just to get into the lobby. The motel is in a former hospital.

The room was very clean, and the shower was amazing to use. Getting in was a different story: the door was shut when we arrived, and the number on the door didn’t work. After about three minutes, someone let us in while talking on the phone. She showed us the room but didn’t explain anything else, so we didn’t know when we had to leave. Once we’d settled in, we looked for someone, but there was nobody around. It felt like a ghost hotel.

There was no hot water, no staff, and no kettle. The kitchen was absolutely dirty and didn’t have any cups. The place looks abandoned. It’d work for Stranger Things, but not much else.

I got there at night and it looked really creepy, but it was okay for one night. The view in the morning was okay. It’s quiet and a bit far from the road.
