We had a great stay, and even checkout was handled in a friendly way. The man at the desk welcomed us so pleasantly. I’d read the negative reviews and expected an unpleasant night, but that wasn’t our experience at all. We arrived at 9:30 p.m., were warmly greeted, and got clear directions for finding our room key. The room was small but perfectly fine for an overnight stay near the airport. The shower was wonderful, and we could open the window when it felt too warm. The heater was set very high, so we switched it off right away. We didn’t hear airport noise. Breakfast was a delicious, generous spread, and when my daughter needed her medication kept in a fridge, they took care of it immediately.

It’s a very basic hotel, with small rooms and a tiny bathroom. If you’re 1,95 tall, the shower is a challenge. The staff are friendly and help you register yourself. The upside is that you get to see why checking in takes so long.

Breakfast was good, about the only thing that redeemed the stay. The room was tiny and very basic, with little space for luggage or moving around. I can’t imagine two people sharing one of the standard rooms. On top of that, there was a steady noise from outside every night I stayed, like some kind of engine. It was always the same sound and made sleeping difficult, which is a basic thing you need from a hotel. It’s expensive for what you get. The other places I booked for the rest of my trip cost less and were bigger, quieter, and had amazing views. If you book well ahead, check the price again a few days before you arrive, since it might be substantially cheaper. Parking costs extra, even in the hotel lot, and the hotel isn’t in a city center, which just adds to the cost. Next time I’ll look at places a bit farther from the airport that offer better value and a better experience.

The staff were all so welcoming and helpful when we stayed last night. It’s really close to the airport, which is perfect for an early or late flight. I’ll definitely come back next time I fly to Narvik.
