Geilo Mountain Lodge

Jan made our first family ski trip so easy. He helped arrange the equipment rental, our children’s lessons, and all our ski passes, and even drove us to the ski centre on the first day. We stayed for a week over New Year’s with our two young children and had a wonderful time. The lodge is wonderfully unusual, like a house from a fairy tale, and we ate breakfast and dinner there nearly every day. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. Everyone on staff was kind and welcoming, including Jan’s handsome Irish setter, Timba, who behaved impeccably with our two-year-old. We can’t imagine staying anywhere better in Geilo, and would happily return.

We had a wonderful stay at Geilo Mountain Lodge. The food was fantastic and the service couldn’t have been better. We also enjoyed walking and running around the nearby lake.

We visited in August and loved our stay. The hotel is charming, and meeting Jan was a pleasure. Every detail felt carefully chosen to make the place cozy and luxurious. The service was exceptional, and the food was the best of our whole trip by far. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.

We’ve had dinner here several times, and this time stayed overnight in one of the cozy rooms. It didn’t disappoint, and breakfast was very good too. The owner and kitchen staff give you personal attention. To me, this is Geilo’s only real boutique hotel. If you can do without swimming pools and the big hotels’ amenities, it’s a lovely choice for a quiet, relaxed stay.
