We had a fantastic catch, with cod, pollack, saithe, haddock, ling, tusk, and loads of mackerel. It was our second visit, and we've really grown fond of both the place and its lovely owners. A top-notch spot. We'll be back next year, friends!

The accommodation has always been very clean and well maintained, and the owner's grumpy, unwelcoming manner didn't bother us before. We were here a few days ago, for the third year in a row, as a group of five anglers. This time, though, things were significantly worse. He gave us a nautical chart that was hard to read in many places, with several restricted areas he'd marked himself. His explanation was that there were many rocks on the seabed, which is understandable. One of our boats briefly strayed into a restricted area on the first day, but we turned back as soon as we noticed. We got lost partly because of the chart and partly because the boat's navigation system was unsuitable, with a screen about the size of a Nokia phone. The fish finder was in Norwegian, and the owner said it shouldn't be changed. Near the open sea, our engine stalled. We got it running again by pumping in gasoline and venting the tank. Almost all of us have boat licenses. When we returned to the marina, the owner blamed it on the tank not being completely full and the water level fluctuating. He said we'd been going too fast and using too much fuel. We hadn't switched boats. He then told us he'd been tracking our routes and showed them on his monitor before enlarging the restricted areas. He also said we weren't allowed to fish near rocks anymore. Tracking boats to prevent emergencies is great, no question, but renters should know about it and agree to it. It shouldn't be used to control us or further limit where we can fish. He even threatened to impound our boat. Two days before our trip ended, he chained up one of our boats because he said we'd broken his rules and gone beyond the boundaries he'd marked on the chart. He wouldn't show us the boundaries on his monitor, and we weren't refunded for those two days. Other guests had trouble with him too. He threatened another group with having their boat impounded, and wouldn't help two elderly people when they couldn't get the stove working. We managed to sort it out for them. You don't feel welcome, and there's no help from the owner. When something goes wrong, it's apparently the guest's fault. I expect the owner will respond to this review the way he has to earlier critical comments. Tight lines!
