We could see boats passing from the living room, and the whole place felt really cozy. The owners were warm and welcoming, and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean and modern. We stayed three nights, and with the bedrooms quiet even when the restaurant downstairs was busy, it was a lovely stay. The bacalao, made with dried fish from Skrova, was especially good. It’s right by the boat stop, so arriving with luggage was easy. Highly recommend.

The host was so kind and explained everything before we arrived, which I really appreciated. We loved both the stay and the island. We knew the bed in our shared-bathroom room was small, so that was fine. I took off a star because the living room floor, where I cooked, wasn’t level. I have balance problems, and even the five-degree slope was uncomfortable for me.

Monica welcomed me so warmly and was helpful and attentive throughout my six days on beautiful Skrova. She knows a lot about the weather and island life. I first visited the restaurant in July 2024 for the delicious food and nice atmosphere, then returned in February 2025 to stay at Midnattsol Guesthouse. My room was spacious and lovely, the kitchen was well equipped, and I really liked the cozy common room. I’m looking forward to coming back. Thank you, Monica!

The restaurant alone was why I chose to stay here, and I ate there all four nights. Fresh food, lovingly prepared, and cheerful service. The four-night stay was lovely too. Monica and her team are sweet and accommodating, and I enjoyed the quaint rooms, beautiful common room, and the people I met there. You can hear restaurant music from the bedrooms, which I think adds to the charm. The ferry stops right outside. In this 200-plus-year-old building the floors creak, and early ferries mean people may be up early, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. The kitchen is fully equipped, but there’s no breakfast served on the island. The grocer says it closes at 7pm, though it often shuts at 5pm, so bring breakfast supplies if you arrive late. Skrova Kayaking is also worth checking out. They’re very nice, and the beach is divine.
