It was okay.

I was there in summer, so I can’t say how warm it gets in winter. The place has a lot of charm, and the cottage is really stylish. Heating is by fireplace and electricity. I didn’t spot a bathroom heater, though the sauna worked perfectly. It could use a little renovation, but it’s doing well overall.

The terrace gives you a lovely view over the mountain valley, and Hemsedal is a great spot for it. The accommodation is comfortable and in very decent condition. It’s also close to the lifts and hiking trails, so I’d happily recommend it. Robert 😍.

There are plenty of beds, 10 in all, spread across two rooms and two lofts. The kitchen is basic but well equipped, and there’s a big living and dining room. You also get a large bathroom, a basic toilet and a sauna just inside the entrance. With our dog, the fully fenced veranda was a big plus. Alpelia 2 is well located, with a decent parking area and a short walk down to the cabin door. Many of the doors are old and low, so anyone taller than 1.62 may need to watch their head, but they have a lot of charm. The one thing holding it back from five stars was the very weak included internet and poor TV signal. 9/10, I’d rent it again.
