Vinger Hotell

Breakfast service was minimal, and they had run out of scrambled eggs by morning. I paid over 1500 nok for one night, which felt like far too much for this shabby, worn-down hotel. The decor throughout was boring and old, and there was no way to adjust the room temperature. It was already warm, but the heater was still on, so the room got very hot. Probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I could go on.

I was here for five days on a business trip, and the location suited my work. The crew were polite, and the room was about average in size, with old equipment in general. The bathroom was the weakest part: its shower was really small, and it looked like the bathroom had been added later to meet newer standards. Still, it was clean and functional. Breakfast was average, but the mixed eggs, sausage, and bacon saved my morning. Overall, an average hotel, and I had no issues during the stay.

I felt disgusted by this stay and won’t come back. The room wasn’t clean, and there was a stain on my mattress that nobody had bothered to clean, as shown in the photo. It also smelled strongly of sewer when I entered. The smell went away after I ran the bathroom water, so perhaps the room hadn’t been used for a while. Staff should have a routine for checking empty rooms so guests aren’t met with that horrible stench.

Dust in the bedroom, worn carpets, and mould inside the fridge. The place is old and outdated, stuck in the 80s, and I won’t stay here again. I told the young staff, but they didn’t seem interested in what a customer had to say. I’ve stayed in better hostels than this hotel.
