We spent two weeks in Norway, and this was the worst part of the trip. The owner shouted at us to get our dog out and leave, even though the online listing said pets were allowed. We had already booked and paid. He locked the front door and wouldn’t refund us. Avoid this place.

Even though I arrived well past the usual check-in time, the manager or owner was extremely polite and friendly. I’d booked my first night at Sjøglott very late, so I appreciated that a lot. The room was a decent size and nice, and the staff were helpful and courteous. A good place to stay when visiting Kristiansand.

We were ripped off. The hotel was closed, and a neighbour said it had gone bankrupt, yet the website still accepted our booking payment. Be careful.

Sjøglott Hotel Kristiansand/Norway 01-02/2023 02-06/2022 There’s a washing machine and dryer in the house. The hotel has no breakfast, and the rooms are clean, with an okay bed, a shower, toilet and TV. They’re on the small side, and the standard is pretty ordinary, but it’s fine for a few nights. Not somewhere for a honeymoon 🤣

The staff brought the rating back up for me. They seemed to genuinely care about their guests, and the price is low. Our room faced a poor back alley, had no refrigerator, and the seagulls outside screamed all night, though.
