Hotel Breiseth

The rooms were clean, service was great, and everything was convenient. The staff were super friendly, too. Breakfast felt very local and everything tasted good. I’d definitely come back.

Our group of 10 stayed two days across seven rooms. Anita gave us cheerful service and made check-in easy for our tour. The hotel was quiet, with a first-floor lounge offering coffee and tea all day, including upgraded coffee drinks. Entry has one large step before the automatic door, and while elevators reach rooms on several floors, some rooms still require going up or down steps. The rooms were fairly spacious, with several outlets, a comfortable chair, and comfy twin or double beds with thick covers. There’s a large-screen TV with Norwegian channels, a few English shows, and one news channel. Each room has a kettle, tea bags, and instant coffee. Bathrooms have hand wash, shampoo, and body wash; water from the walk-in shower spills onto the bathroom floor. The breakfast buffet had proteins, blue cheese, brie, brown cheese, cereals, yogurts, two egg dishes, and both soft- and hard-boiled eggs. There were several kinds of fresh bread, plus a separate gluten-free selection. Fresh fruit included melon, cantaloupe, and watermelon.

The beds were nice and breakfast was solid. It’s also well placed near the main train and bus station.

The newer, better-quality linens made this one of the nicer hotels on our tour, though the place still felt tiny and cramped. It’s a two-block walk to a great pedestrian shopping street. Nothing especially stood out, but I had no real complaints either.
