Mørsvikbotn Camping

We found it easy to reach, whether driving or taking the bus, since the camping is right by the E6 at the fjord entrance. There’s a lovely view in every direction, and the water was surprisingly warm for a swim. Mountain trails nearby make for a good hike, too. There’s room for caravans and trailers, or you can bring a tent. Cabins come in several sizes and standards. The place is clean and works well for families with kids or people traveling with dogs. The owners were friendly and happy to help. Facilities include toilets, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and drying machines, and a TV room. Showers cost extra. There’s also a volleyball court, a playground, and an electric car charger. A shop less than a five minute walk away is open seven days a week, and the reception sells snacks and drinks. I’d happily recommend staying here.

The E6 was noisy outside, though once inside I couldn’t hear it. We stayed in the smallest cabin with two beds and found it warm and comfortable. The shared living room is lovely, and the bathrooms were clean. Reception stays open until 23:00, and after that you can ring the bell at the house.

The mudflats were a lovely place to watch the tide and seabirds, with mountains all around. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this campground. It’s a small, quiet place on the beach at Nordfolda Fjord, with roomy individual sites. The lower level puts caravans right by the beach, while the two campground levels sit far enough back from the E6 that road noise wasn’t a problem. Getting there from the E6 is easy. We paid NOK 320 for one night with our caravan and electricity in 2023-08, which felt like good value. The owner was friendly and had a relaxed, caring manner. The service building is old but does the job. Some showers have been updated, with bright decor and nice shower heads. I liked being able to pay for a shower by credit card or cell phone. Gray water and sewage disposal were straightforward, and there’s an electric car charger. A grill "kota" is available at no cost, along with a larger covered grill area.

The kids got to swim in pleasantly warm water, and the place itself was clean and nice, with a good price. It’s a handy stop between fauske and the ferry. The shower payment setup is the one downside: you pay outside the building, then have to run in to shower, and they can’t do anything about that. We love the place and will stop again next time. Still, I’d give this one four stars. Recommended.
